Welcome to my MSGIS portfolio! My name is Daniel Kirkegaard, and this website showcases a selection of projects I completed as part of the Master of Science in Geographic Information Science (MSGIS) program at the University of Utah.

     Prior to graduate school, I worked in GIS for both Park City Public Utilities and AgReserves. After graduation, I plan to continue working in the GIS field, ideally with an organization where sustainability is a central focus. I am particularly interested in using GIS to better understand environmental challenges and support more sustainable approaches to planning and decision-making.

     I have lived in Salt Lake City my entire life; I love living in such a beautiful place. When I am not working or focused on school, you can usually find me recreating in the mountains and enjoying everything Utah has to offer. I am an avid hiker, swimmer, cyclist, and skier.
